Studies in COINS can be associated with a mapping initiative, allowing access to collection and export tools specific to each sharing initiative. Currently COINS offers National Institute of Mental Health Data Archive (NDA) support, which encompasses several initiatives including National Database for Autism Research (NDAR), Research Domain Criteria (RDoC), and National Database for Clinical Trials Related to Mental Illness (NDCT). In addition, support for Federal Interagency Traumatic Brain Injury Research (FITBIR) is currently in progress.

Once a study has been associated with a sharing initiative, GUID collection tools and assessment and imaging mapping tools will become available.
