Mapping Editor

Mappings are used to assign the fields in your uploaded files to the fields in a chosen destination. Transformations can also be applied to data before it reaches the destination.

Click "Create New Mapping" to create a new mapping. Enter a label for the new mapping and click submit.

Previously saved mappings are available in the dropdown selector located near the top of the page. The currently selected mapping is shown.

Editor Toolbar

From left to right, the editor tool bar buttons are:

Save Mapping

Delete Mapping

Rename Mapping

Auto Link: This feature automatically matches source fields to destination fields based on their similarity.

Diagram Editor

The Mapping Diagram is a visual representation of the path your data takes when it's imported.

Generally, data moves from left to right across links (represented by blue lines). Links can be drawn between two ports (represented by dark blue squares on the sides of diagram nodes) by clicking one and then the other. Outputs are on the right side of nodes, and inputs are on the left. You can cancel a link in progress by clicking the diagram somewhere that is not a port. An existing link can be deleted by clicking on it.

Source fields will appear on the left side of the diagram. These fields represent the data you upload. Files to which this mapping is applied will be checked for the source fields of the diagram. Any that match will be populated with your data.

The data from the source fields can then be modified by the use of field transformations. These transformations can range from simple whitespace removal to complex application specific modifications. If there is transformation a idea you have that you think might be useful, let us know!

The destination will appear on the right side of the diagram. This is where you would like your data to end up. It will have various input fields (sometimes in multiple sections) to which links can be connected.

Diagram Buttons

Source Fields

The "Source Fields" diagram button opens the Source Field Editor. You can use this tool to configure the source fields of the mapping. This is the entry point for your data. Any fields in your data that match one of the source fields will be populated with that data when importing. Fields can be imported from an uploaded file by clicking the "Import Fields" button.

Transformation Toolbox

The Transformation Tool box shows all the field transformations that are available. To add one to the diagram, click and hold the transformation you would like to use to start dragging it. Move the transformation to where you would like to place it in the diagram and release the mouse.

Once a transformation has been added to the mapping diagram, it can be configured by clicking the pencil icon. To remove a transformation, click the trash can icon.

Destination Editor

The Destination Editor is used to select where your data will end up. First, select a destination from the list. Then step through the pages to configure the destination. Any configuration option that is left at the default will be shown on the mapping instead. Finally, at the last page review your selections and click "OK" to add the destination to the mapping or click "Go Back" to make changes.
